• Recommended to submit manually to each search engine.
• Submit to the top major 10 search engines. Here is a list:

  	2.	Yahoo	7.	MSN Search
  	3.	AltaVista	8.	Teoma.com
  	4.	HotBot	9.	AOL Search
  	5.	FastSearch	10.	Excite

• Submit and wait patiently – about 4 weeks until search engines will recognize you, some take longer – even up to 90 days.
• If not recognized then, resubmit.

• Should only have to submit your site once.
• General Rule: first check each engine to see if a new page has been indexed. 

  But you can re-submit for the following:
  	1.	If your rankings don’t go up after 2 months.
  	2.	If your page drops out
  	3.	If your listings fall dramatically

  1.	Spam
  	a. Examples: mirror pages, cloaking, doorway pages, and using keywords more than 7-8 times. b. Search engines can permanently take you out of their indexes.
  2.	Tinker with your meta tags
  3.	Submit your site more than once a month
  	a. Some search engines consider this spam b. Search engines are very strict about this
  4.	Make changes to your account without letting the account manager know.
  5.	Blatantly repeat your keywords
  	a. This may be consider spam, so be careful b. Don’t think you can fool search engines—they look for these things

  2.	Use good keyword density
  3.	Make sure your website is easy to get around and friendly
  	a. Have good clean material b. Make it quick to load
  4.	Make sure your content is very accessible
  5.	Have links to go along with your website
  	a. You will have a better chance at being recognized b. Better probability of higher rankings
  6.	BE PATIENT!
